mototeck tailight mod

here we go again... the org had hic-ups when originally posted.

my mototeck tail lights were flickering so my friend Mike made this mod. the spring in the socket is wayyy to weak to apply pressure to the bulb to make sufficent contact. here's a pic of the cut spring and the new thicker spring courtesy of the local true value.

the old spring has the ground welded to it, so we cut the excess and left the last ring with the welded ground in the socket, and swirled the new spring into place.

and...the old set up. we cut the old spring right above the weld, leaving the end of the ring with the weld.

and...the ring is looped around the wires and then slid into the socket...

and the new spring is put on like a keychain ring...

and....snap the white plastic connector top in. hope this helps anyone having the same problem i had.

I had one issue with my tail lights on mine but i found that it was the white plastic piece had turned itself and wasnt making contact with the bulb... i turned it and havent had a problem since. I do know what you mean about the spring being whimpy though... i was suprised and didnt even think about replacing it. Good mod!
