Put any rider from WSBK or AMA on a GP bike and I think they will agree that the MotoGP riders are the best of the best.
It is all about the bikes, and it takes riders with mad skills to control them.
Just watch Stoner coming out of a corner once he puts his head down and claims the front spot. That is some violent sh*^.
There have been a lot of less than exciting races this season,(France not included) but I still say MotoGP is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing skill.
What's amazing is that, even with traction control, you still see some of the riders powering through the corners .... And you can still watch Rossi making moves like an old chess grandmaster. That's not Yamaha, that's Rossi.
I just wonder where you draw the line in the "history" of technology between that which you will accept and that which you won't. And once that line is drawn, do you forbid any technological improvements?
moto is definately the best riders on the best bikes in the world but when the riders start making comments like nicky did i think the eletronics are getting out of hand. ive never been a fan of eletronic traction devices when combined with racing. thats kind of the whole point of racing see which MAN is faster not which COMPUTER is better.
if youre brain and right hand cant put the power to the pavement then you should just be s*** out of luck. tech. improvements are fine but lets dont get to the point where these bikes are point and shoot like f1 became. look what it did for them, almost killed the series. now they dont have t.c. and the racing is a lot more fun to watch.
