Mic for chatterbox

Due to wind and freeway noise, I'm looking for the throat mic that would be compatible with a chatterbox. The throat mic is just like the ones the special forces and navy seals use. Two mics clipped on the base of your throat. Anyone know of any that will plug into a chatterbox??

Charles do you have the noise reduction headset? What type of helmet are you using? Where have you located the mic in your helmet?

If you are looking for clear speach above 60-70 then I don't think any of my suggestions will help.

Yeah below 60mph the chatterbox works great.  Just on the freeway at high speed you can make out the words.  Its the 5mile box with the noise reducing technology, vega helmet, the mic is on the inside of the helmet below the visor(right next to my mouth.

I should clarify, the speakers are fine, its the mic I'm trying to make better. I'm curious about the throat mics, do they just plug in the the chatterbox?

Not sure if they are cross platform But, I've heard you can get them at Radio Shack... A cheaper alternative might be a windsock for your helmet! Helps cover up the opening around your neck.

Here's a couple that I saw months back:

http://www.clearercom.com/index.htm

http://www.firefoxtech.com/products/paintball/

The first one I contacted to see about getting some demo/samples for free because I work on a corporate level for one of the major wireless telecom companies. And if it worked out, I could've made some phone calls to see about carrying them in all of our retail stores throughout the country. Dealt with some guy that just dropped the ball on their end. I guess he was more worried about his ten-sy quota's over the longer term possibility of being a major distributor to the company I work for.

As far as what I've researched the idea is great. The ones carried by clearercom is made by Iasus, some Taiwan company. http://iasus-concepts.com/noise_terminator/nt2_new/nt2r2.html

The retailer ClearerCom is located in Canada, I think. If you do get a set, let us know how it works for you.

Funniest thing is I believe ClearerCom is some mom & pop garage operation. Their site is not that bad, but there are some inconsistancies once you click around. And for the NT GP model they've posted a reveiw by someone at Helmet Harbor with a link to Helmet Harbor. HH sells the product too, so they've essentially are supporting their competitors!

Pretty cool since I ride with a lot of cruiser with straight pipes, just be alittle less expensive would be nice.
Damn 100 bucks - god lorwd thats alot of money !

I havent tried this but it lQQks like it will do the trick to block out wind noise that interferrz with the mic . One is for cold weather and the other is for summer riding. Helmet enclosure

Hey not to step on threads here....

But with a chatterbox you should consider the "QUIETRIDER" from NOJ. They have four models to choose from. It mounts on the open side of the helmet under you chin and blocks all the wind entering the helmet. It doesnt interfer with the puting on of the helmet but it does remove the wind hitting your mic infront of your chin this removes the noise factor and allows you to talk with a whisper if both helmets have it at about 100mph. Ref the throat mics. Check out IASUS I have one for my nextel, and my helmet mic works great. No outside background noises are heard pics up from the mic element against your throat. You'll feel like a commando but it works great.

Not sure where to get them, but skydivers use a communication system to talk to each other, since they fly through the air at over 100mph it should work, I don't see Navy Seals going 100mph to often so not sure how good that would be. I have the new X-1 chatter box no problems it may just be the location you have the mic, try moving it around if you have not already done that.
