Got a friend looking to buy a 09 grey busa. Local dealer in Memphis TN wants 11,900 out the door. I think that's at least $1000 to much as I remember being able to get 08's out the door for $10,700 at one time. What kind of pricing should he be looking for. Thanks

That is not that bad, considering I paid 13 OTD in Jan.
But I do know there are some good prices out there. In OK I found one for 11.2 OTD. Tulsa area. (not Tucson, inside joke, sorry).

Last summer I got mine for around 11OTD but now since Busas are drying up and no 2010 continental the price may start to go back up .

Is he financing or paying cash ?
If hes paying cash he will get the best price when he shows it to them , as in walking in door and saying I'll write you a check for $10,500 RIGHT NOW.
Then let them go to work.
Financing not as much leverage but still when he is at dealer ready to roll that is when he will get best price.

I just saw an 09 Silver at my dealer in stuart.
Want me to get a price for him ?
That and a few hundered to ship it may wind up being less ?

He will probably pay cash...just called the dealership across town in olive branch and that idiot said $12,900 even if he brought cash:rofl: Maybe he will just end up paying $11,900 OTD for the other one who knows. Thanks for the offer but I will just let him go find one. I was just interested in what they were selling for since the 2010's are not available

Was that $11,900 written on the back of a card during casual convo or was it when he was sitting down ready to buy ?
If not the latter he can still do better.
When hes ready to drive it home tell him to go sit down and make them an offer hes ready to do right then right there.
The first question the Mgr will ask salesman is "Is he ready to take it home NOW ?"
If is he then they will go to work for him.
He should make them a respectable low offer, let them turn it down and then go home. They will call him back (hopefully) and poss meet in the middle.
Tell him to go offer
"$10,500 right here right now , go tell your mgr cuz I got my helmet"
See what they say. It cant hurt can it ?

He went out and bought the 09 anyway on saturday. Paid 13,xxx out the door....to me that would have felt like :moon: and then sitting on a pine cone price. This guy has the $$ were it doesn't matter, He has 200K in toys "2 GT500's, 4 wheelers, boats, trucks"...the works. Anyway needless to say I've been debating over selling my turbo bike and picking up a 8-9K GEN 2 just to enjoy as a streetbike....NOT A CHANCE. I haven't been riding on the turbo or any bike in months and the GEN 2 felt ridiculously slow so that is def not a move I'm going to make. Best part of the morning was when the dealer says "Are you comfortable riding a motorcycle...this is the fastest production bike in the world and isn't a toy". I kindly replied yes I'm fine I actually have a turbo hayabusa. Then the idiot says " son this is a GEN 2 busa and its 1340CC not 1300CC like the GEN 1 be careful because they have improved the performance":rofl:I know he was just being nice but good lord pay attention man...I SAID TURBO. Anyway don't get to mad guys but my friend who purchased it still has yet to ride it...so theres a 09 busa thats been sitting in a guys garage with 20 miles on it for the last 2 sunny days!!! I'm not a betting man but I bet the bike doesn't get 500 miles put on it in the next 2 years.

Sounds like another case of more money than brains... j/k

I still can't believe what some of you are paying for these bikes. No wonder they aren't selling and sitting on dealer show rooms......$12-13k+ OTD is a complete JOKE!

11.9 OTD isnt bad. I payed 10.8 + TT&L so in the end it came out being about 12k OTD.

I know the guy already bought it, but just for the sake of discussion, this is what I did.
I came on the Org and saw prices people were getting, then called up every dealer in my state (and two nearby out of state) and told them I had a quote for 10,500 (which was true, but it was halfway across the country lol) out of state, and that if they could match, I would go with them. No one got as low as the 10.5, but the lowest I did get was 10.8 and I was happy.

I wouldn't be afraid of the hayabusa "drying up." Unless you know something I don't I see plenty of them at the dealership (TX).

They have 2 2009's, one silver, one white. They also had a black one still in the box. And I doubt they'll even ask for the MSRP.

I totally agree. The dealer across town has 7 on the floor and is asking $12900 and won't do a price match....guess he just doesn't like selling bikes. 12-13K OTD is madness....especially when you can go pick a 08 up for $8000-$9000 that some guy has 500 miles on and a full exhaust and tune

You cant use 2008 prices as a barometer for 2009's as they went up 1,000 dollars in 2009.

Also, "OTD" numbers will wildly vary even if you have the same selling price because all states have a different sales tax scale. California has the highest tax rate, Delaware has none.

You should really be asking for what a good "purchase price of a 2009" should be, before tax.

That said, I paid roughly 11,100 for my '09 before tax here in Chicagoland last summer.

okay well then take the $10,700 OTD price and tack 1K on it so now your at $11,700. Its not like people are standing in line to buy new busas and 13K OTD is an :moon: rapping in my book for a 09 busa thats been sitting in a dealers warehouse for almost 2 years. This is just the outcome of a situation where a guy has so much $$ it doesn't even matter.

You are correct but $13k anything is just CRAZY especially this time of year. If the dealer won't budge on MSRP you are talking almost $15k OTD for a BUSA......which is INSANE!

If Suzuki wants to know why they aren't selling, look at the dealer PRICES......that's why they aren't moving... :banghead:

Combined with the economoy and less than ideal people that can't get financing now = little sales...

FYI $11,299 no haggle price here (+ local tax)--> Suzuki Motorcycles from Bartlesville Cycle Sports
