Ok, I’m curious… why do you feel the need to ditch the key lock barrel?
What is the advantage for you?
It’s actually not for me. I know a guy who has his Busa set up primarily for racing and he doesn’t really need his keys at all since he has an ignition delete but still needs his key to access the trunk…wants to totally get rid of his key.

He knows a guy that has a keyless trunk and he really wants a set up like that.

LOL I locked the hump down on my Gen2 once only to remember I had forgotten to connect the lock mechanism cable into the latch. Someone on here got me through that. I forget the exact procedure but you can bend the tupperware under the riders seat and reach back in there to the latch. It hurts and if you have big arms, it's gonna really hurt but it's doable if you know how the latch works. ...not a good solution for your buddy but the idea of a keyless trunk lock brought it to mind.
