I have always said respect gets respect and I do my best to live by that. One of the first posts asked about where to get a plate kit so I posted up the answer. He is a grown man and can make his own choice. As for cops most are good hard working people that just want to do a good job. Yes some are badge heavy, and they lie and flex their power the wrong way. Their actions throw mud on all police badges, they should loose that badge and be made to answer for what they have done. Not loose the badge and walk away but see jail like anyone else. To paint all police with the same brush is the same as finding one white or black man that is a thief and then saying all white men or black men are thief's. Judge each person by their actions and respect they give you. I will give you respect until I see you are not deserving of that respect. I bet if you met me in person we could in most cases be friends. I bet you would be surprised after we hung out and rode together what I do for a living... Yep your guessing it.. I am a city police officer and have been for 25 years. I love bikes and respect other riders and I have given bikers more breaks than I can remember for traffic violations. All Im saying is take each person one at a time and judge them based on how they treat other people. And as for cops that are on the take and screwing with people on a pure power trip they should go down.

Years ago I used to make them out of universal automobile antennas. You buy one at a auto store, hinge your plate, break the antenna away and you were left with a plastic beaded flexable cable. you know the rest 12v, switch and go. I only used it for show purposes.

Hope I'm not jenksing myself here but it seems the opposite in Indpls. When I was a teen YES A TEEN and still the cops would cut me breaks cause they liked my bike

 I accidently blasted a red light in frt of a Village Pantry were 3 cops were outside. I saw them at the last min. and tried to hide dn. the next neighborhood street but my headlight shut off too slow. They got me. I got a little almost friendly harrassement cause they said they knew I was trying to hide

All I got was a verbal warning. They did keep trying to get me to tell them how fast I've had it

I accidently did a pwr wheelie recently

just as a cop was coming around a bend a 150 yds ahead.

He just stared at my bike as I went by. WEW I thought for sure I was toast but he never turned around

I have read this post with extreme interest.

Running from the cops is a 1/10000 choice to begin with.

Only God knows what will become of it.

And if you do need to scoot for whatever reasons, having a flip up plate device will not make one bit of difference.

A full tank of gas,knowledge of the immediate area and above average Busa riding skills are the only things that will save you.

Not all LEO's think the same....Most of them that have turn their lights on behind me have had no problems when I quickly pull over. Normally I am in the wrong for going a bit too fast, but they still let me off on a warning because I quickly pulled over. Now that doesn't happen all the time...The only two tickets I've had in the past 14yrs has been by the same motorcycle cop, which each time he has pulled me over has treated me like I just killed 100 women & children while robbing a bank....Screamed at me to take my key out & hand it to him then walk my bike across a busy intersection where he can safely give me a ticket. Is he wrong for giving me a ticket, no...Could he have been a bit nicer considering I wasn't giving him a hard time, yes...But again, every LEO isn't the same...So don't hate them all because of the select few who choose to be an @@@hole because they have a badge...
