He wanted to bust you for riding on the shoulder but had to admit you were only sharing a lane. Thank god for the ubiquitous presence of video equipment and/or the honesty of that officer. If it was just your word against his in court, you would have lost...or the postal employee would have anyway.

In MI and many other states, it is illegal to photograph or video a police officer. Only reason that would be accepted in court would be for a serious charge.

I don't believe it’s illegal to photograph (anyone) who is in a public place as long as the photographer is also in a public place. The (eyes) cannot trespass.

I would like to think so but check the web for laws of your state. It's unlawful to photograph cops in MI. ...unless you make some sort of serious allegation like theft, assault, rape murder, etc., they are not going to allow video evidence of anyone. You might get fined for doing it if it was a cop. Too bad because I have seen some videos of cops backing off knowing they were in the wrong and on film. Also saw some people get their arse kicked even though the cops knew they were being filmed.

Nope, 1st amendment. Show us the MI law that prohibits photographing the cops. Cops can be just as ignorant of the law as anyone regardless of their position of being in a job where they should know (all) the laws governing the citizens (and) police conduct.

lucky in England we can lane split or filter legally
in June i was touring in Germany, and on the Autobahn one day , an accident closed the road.
a 10 mile queue with German bikers sat in the queue. ( Germany dont allow filtering)

i just filtered to the front of the queue, when it cleared i was off doing 170mph legally
