Just thought I share, mpg&engine temp

As some of you know, we went to sturgis last week. I got the honors to idle through town a few times in near 100* heat. My temp guage did go higher than it normally does, but only by a small amount. It normally runs just below half way, and in traffic it only went just above half way. At first the fan was cycling on/off, then finally just stayed on. I had no idea the bike had heated grips.

I averaged 48mpg in the thousand miles out there.

Yeah, once I got into the Sturgis traffic my fan pretty much stayed on as we were creeping along slower than a walking pace. My temp stayed just slightly higher than usual to. Nothing at all to be concerned with.

I think I averaged around 41 for my 1600 mile round trip.

I probably would have gotten worse milage if I could open it up places.

Too many cops, don't need a ticket. If we ever go back, I think I will be there for more than just bikeweek. So I can enjoy some of those roads at-speed.
