Hi everyone, just put a deposit on a clean gen 1 with a few mods. Comes with warranty as its from a dealer, anything to look out for in the warranty period? Not planning on drag racing it, and doesnt look like it has been before, but ill still check for second gear issues! Never actually ridden one before so all new to me. Had a blackbird for a short time and a k8 1000 for a year, but looking forward to the torque

Welcome to the insanity known as Hayabusa......

That's great that they are giving you a warranty on an older bike like that.....

Sounds like you are ready for some fun.......

yeah, im nervous about potential future box issues but this may be out of proportion worry due to reading online. In disabled so the 1000cc crop dont flatter my pain much, but having sat on a hayabusa the low seat height will suit me i think. No idea what to expect performance wise, the blackbird felt very bland to me and didnt "feel" fast, although it put numbers on the clock well enough

Surprisingly enough, the Hayabusa is very docile until you don't want it to be....you can ride it all day at sub speed limit speeds or wick it up and hold on.......

You'll find the Hayabusa is quite a bit heavier than the 1k bikes but around the same as the Black Bird.....but it will also gather speed in a real hurry

Im excited for that, i normally spend my time on the twisties but hoping this will tempt me to do more miles
The best part of this bike is it is so happy to be modified....higher bars, drop pegs, different seat and wind shield can really morph it in a decent sport tourer....

If you take the time and set up the suspension it can be a good corner carver too....

Yeah i think muscling a bike bike through fast twisties. Any ideas if to be worried about transmission issues? Heres a pic of it

It appears to be in excellent shape......and has very good brakes up front too.....

How many miles/kms are on it? They are known to have or develop a 2nd gear issue over time but not all of them have this issue.....

It looks like the bar end weights were removed....this can cause more of a buzz on the bars as these engines are buzzy around 4,000rpm....

Did you also get the rear hump?

20000 miles almost exactly, bar end weights are gone due to heated grips which are going to be replaced and bar ends added. Comes with rear hump. Gilles tooling clip ons and top yoke too plus service history so hopefully its been used by a more mature rider!

Welcome to the zoo! Hang around here for more tips on how to spend money.

In torque we trust...

Welcome, you're going to fall head over heels for the Busa. Especially once you dial the in tire pressure, ergos and squishy bits to suit your riding needs. As BBee already stated, they're really gentle when you want them to be, and well, when ya don't she'll be ready. :) You sure found a fine specimen. And that brake upgrade is dreamy! Enjoy the ride!
