I just go home. there is a tech bulliten on a better clutch that Suzuki sells MUCH better.
I will have to check into the spring stuff.
But I would say that 60 precent of TL1000 clutch problems is not adjusting the throwout bearing properly.
I will try to remember to bring home part #s

I have a '97 TL1000S. Picked it up cheap used.
I have been doing the usual mods. But, the clutch on this thing sucks. It slipped in 1st or second stock. 3-4K rpm then suddenly release to 7K rpm. I researched a little and it seems that this was common if ridden hard.

I put Barnett springs (5) in it and did not modify the clutch hub because i would still like to retain some of the Back torque limiting feature due to the engine braking the twins have. The springs helped a great deal.

My question is--I know that after '97 Suzuki added a spring to the clutch and they now have six (6). Is there any reason why I can't install the six spring set-up in the '97? It should bolt right in correct?

Thanks

Thanks JC--Anything you have on it would help.
Omega--One word--BACK ORDER!! AKRAPOVIC and IVAN"S NEEDLES. SO I'm waiting. In the mean time its broken in and plenty fun!!

The TL1000S' can be found cheap. SHe needed some TLC and is good now. The S is a forgotten jewel. Lighter than the R and makes good power from 6500-10500, and has low-mid range grunt as well. 117 hp w/ Micron slip-ons and a Yosh remap
godzuki offered to paint it Chrome Illusion GOLD.
