What is wrong with Indianapolis? It's an embarrassment to the United States to invite the world to a track that has caused more accidents in practice and qualifying than any other in recent memory. Top riders are out of the race, and Lorenzo even commented that it's the worst of all the tracks on the entire world circuit. Maybe they need to stick with cars that only turn left.

Hayden out, Stoner questionable, Spies down but Qual. 4th

Incident filled for sure, Pedrosa, Dovi and Bradl seem to have game on. Should be an interesting race.

Stoner has chips and fractures in his ankle and foot, and torn ligaments. I'm guessing he's out. Barbera (Pramac Ducati) is out as well, with damage to his back. Spies went off, but was ok, and Rossi almost had a big off in the same place as Hayden. Inexcusable for what is supposed to be a world-class track.

When I saw that Stoner crash I was thinking that would really suck for him to get hurt after deciding to give it up because of the danger. That was a seriously mean highside - reminded me of the 2-stroke days when 3-4 guys got ejected off the bike a race! Glad that ended with just ankle damage. Hayden's was pretty crazy too. Tracks got to really suck to do that. I haven't seen highsides like that since electronics.

Ok sorry for my ignorance because I've never been on a track but why is it the tracks fault?
The track is a non living inanimate object. If they are crashing than SLOW DOWN, adapt overcome it.
Don't push hard crash and blame the surface?

The track is inconsistent. The slick areas and just the same as the sticky parts visually just no traction. THe riders are learning the track but apparently the new asphalt Indy put down doesn't like the tire compounds very much. These guys are pushing the limit for every second and when you have a big variable that is unpredictable you get crashes. As much as I don't like Stoner he is the best of the best and his crashing has nothing to do with talent, I would bet on that.

I guess we could ask the world champion Jorge Lorenzo, since he's the one that said its the worst track on the entire world circuit. Rossi stated that it eats up tires like the rest, but, strangely, there's no traction. Riders have complained for years about the asphalt at Indy--maybe they should stick to NASCAR and Indycar, and leave road racing to dedicated circuits. PS I've never been on a track either; I just read what the riders say about the track.

If you watched any of the 3 races, you could see the spent rubber in certain turns piling up. Track conditions were an issue for some.
