Ahhh yes, one of my favorite times of the year, Street Vibrations in Reno! Thousands and thousands of Harley types are pouring into the area from all over the west for a week of show and shine, vendor tents, exhibits, stunt events, barbeques, outside dance bands and cruises for 5 solid nonstop days of fun. There are a lot of good mom and pop folks that ride Harleys and then there are the less desirable bunch, the hot shots on choppers that split lanes (illegal in NV) and run stop signs and just in general, totally ignore the law. Well, that's the kind I prey on, hehe! I'll test the busa against the uninformed lads that think they have the baddest machines on the planet, like I did last year with my GSXR1000. I can be stalking along at the speed limit and invaribly there is always one in each group that will jump out of the pack and come up alongside me and give me the sign to "let's rumble", ha! Long story short, never been beat yet and don't intend to. Some of these people act like they haven't a clue as to what a sports bike is capable of.
You'd think I'd be a bit more mature at 60 and not act like the idiot I am, but heck, life is short and my passion for two wheeled speed only gets stronger as I get older!! Yikes!

I was drinking beers with some guys one night and one guy was talking about sleds (snowmobiles for you southerners). He said "they're faster than any bike out there...."

I just had to laugh. yes, they are fast, but in best case vs. best case, I told him even a CBR600 would WALK on the best sled out there... his response "really?"

I've seen many grass drags for sleds... they're lucky to hit 80mph in the 1/8th mile.

60 years old, eh? You're my hero!

Since I've gotten my blue & silver (the fastest color) I feel like l've lost about 20 years. When I tell people that I've bought a bike they look at me like perhaps I forgot to take my medication, and most have no idea what a Hayabusa is lol!

Who knew that these big Suzooks are reallly fountains of youth?

Legbuh, Don't bet too much money. I've seen lots of sleds in the 1/4 mile run low 10's. the thing about sleds is they are going full bore in a few hundred feet.

I always piss the Hardly Abelson guys at the Base by calling them LAME bikers. I tell them they are all a bunch of pathetic posers and that LAME means Look At Me
Why do they all have a split personality. These guys wear uniforms during the day at work but then put on all the leather when they ride and pose. I really laugh at the chaps and fingerless gloves and the little gay tassles on the handle gars.. As a rule, a bunch of HOMO'S. I do however, know some Harley riders that are normal guys, just not very many.

Im KC a few weeks back, I was following dad (GSXcite) south on I-35 out of the city. I watched him make a few quick moves and wondered what he was up to till I saw his prey. At 55, he was toying with a new carrera turbo! I was laughing my a$$ off. The Porche didnt want anything to do with him though, he was smarter than that. I'm now convinced, dad will never change! (hes been like that my whole life, fast cars and bikes.......thats a good thing!!)

and yeah, its fun to mess with HD riders, though when I was up in Sturgis (after the rally) all the HD riders were checkin out the busa and were like, is it really as fast as they say.... my response was "faster

" The fact is that no street legal v-twin is ever going to touch a liter class or bigger I4 or V4 bike. I'll give you some of the more wrenched on Vtwins will flat take some 600-750s but they are day dreaming when it comes to something like a gxr1000 or R1 or busa or zx12/14....even sport bike style vtwins dont have it

now we are talkin faster not better handling, cuz I've seen a TL1000 run away from my anus up in the mountains

A company is now making a carbon fiber cruiser. It weights 375 pounds and they put 124 inch motors on em. The Busa will have to work to beat that one.

Yeah, we might have to twist past 50% throttle now.........
Seriously, unless it's a ProStock v-twin, it ain't gonna beat a busa in speed or quickness.
