Do I need to get a PowerCommander if I pull the mid-pipe off, and replace it with a free flowing muffler?
 
I have baffle free stubbys on mine. I believe it's running a little lean, but I've put 2000 miles on it with out one.
 
NO you don't...it's the same as putting on bolt ons. A PC would let you tune the bike to run a bit smoother, but the PC is NOT needed

I put a pair of screaming eagle mufflers (early versions) on mine w/turnout. OMG it sounded so nice at idle, and really screamed at >5k. I just need to make some 1-7/8" elbows or custom bends to tuck them in a bit, and clear the kickstand.
