I'd like to win a ton o'cash. Then me, my family and my friends would be set.  Actually, i like to help the most when the reciever doesn't know where it came from. I think most of us would help people out if cash was plentiful.

There's a poor fellow that lives near my day job and is always seen around the area. I'll give him a lift down the street sometimes yet i never got his name.
Anyways, he was in line with some food up on the counter he needed. He didn't have enough and went outside to look in his cart to find some extra change. I know the women there and i paid the difference on his food before he came back in.  The next morning i walked in to grab a breakfast sandwich, one of the ladies told me when the fellow came back in and she had the stuff bagged for him and told him that it was paid for by an anonymous person, she said he looked up and prayed a thankyou.

It's that kinda stuff that makes life worth living.

I feel the same way. But if you win big money, people just start looking for handouts. Thats the part that would sux. Most just looking dont even try to earn it.

Cool person # 2.

My shop needs paint. The HouseMouse has been doing her best. She did all the primer. I can't move to well to paint.

Today the neighbours son come over. He's on vacation visiting from New Zealand.(He knows the condition I'm in).

He helped us bang off the paint job in one day. (He's a professional painter by trade).

Some people, like GMbusa just <span style='color:blue'><span style='font-size:17pt;line-height:100%'>ROCK.</span></span>

Though it didn't happen on this board, I once told a story of a nice thing I did and got flamed for it. I don't think it would happen again, and not on this board, but I don't tell stories like that any more. I just do 'em and walk away feeling good and leave it at that.

Still, I like to hear about others doing such things. Keep those stories coming.

I believe billy founded, and retired from microsoft to run one of the biggest (if not the biggest) charity foundation in the world..

I'm sure his taxes are amazingly high.. but I know that foundation is working with Billions of his dollars too... so it doesn't much matter either way IMO..

for a rich dude... he seems alright.

been married to the same chic awhile.. never hear bad things about him... just seems like an insanely rich average dude.. course I could be all wrong too ya know..

always figured Mel Gibson was pretty normal.. but he seems to have found the deep end of the pool here lately. .. and tom cruise... figured he was just a poon junkie.. but he's out of the deep end of the pool and into the ocean.

it me it seems good people doing good deeds dont toot their own horns because it almost seems like they are all into themselves and seeking praise. I beleive that is far from the truth. When you do something good for someone, that makes you feel really good to and often you would want to turn around and share that really good feeling with someone... anyone nearby even. the other person can take that a few ways: they can smile and share the good feelies with you and share in your success, or they can go internal and get all mad at you for making THEM look bad.

well, GM busa, I'm happy with you and for you for what you did! you never know what one minor thing you do can be a major event for someone else, even turning their life around.

+1 on paying it forward.

I have changed so many tires on the freeway it isnt even funny.

Stories/people like this is why boards like the .org are so successful.
