any of you feel the 1k would work for cross country touring also... if some touring mods were added? I'm still pondering....

im not sure what you would do about rear sets but as far as streetable, suzuki really did a fantastic job on the power delievery of the motor

first gear is really tall and pulling away from traffic at a stop is leaner in delievery and smooth and awsome midrange, nice and meaty

it defintly feels alot lighter on the hiway and no where near the ride on the open road like the busa i ride those hiways here in cali like I-5 to oregon and have done the trip on both bikes, when you hit those exspansion joints on the freeway for what seems like forever, you will be wanting the busa

i always take the busa when i make those long journeys but still once in awhile i will go for it and take the 1000 and i gotta tell ya, at the end of the day im much more beat than when i take the bus

i used to ride the busa alot more in the twisties but when i ride the canyons i almost never take the busa cause that tool is scream'in "im a hundred pounds lighter"

there both awsome bikes and i would be hard pressed to chose between the two of them if i had to part with one of them, but as much as i love the 1000, for me i would keep my old busa over my 06 cause i can still do twisties on it, and then ride it to oregon or bodega bay like where im going to tommorow

(ibified @ Mar. 02 2007,01:54) A good friend of mine just bout a 1000.  I look forward to giving it a spin this summer.  I'm sure he'll let me, because it means he'll get to ride the big boy bike....

I like both worlds, i like the busa, gixxer 1k, r1, and CBR1k!

busa and gixxer are probably tied for first though! Seeing as how i've ridden neither of them yet!

I'd like to get a litre or a busa for my first street/sport bike, but not sure if ins. will let me!

I'm almost afraid to ask. But i just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm also planning to take MSF and get my license sometime this spring.

Have a choice between a Shadow 500, or waiting for the "Right" sportbike to come along. What do you think?

p.s. Being 16 suck's!

That's the whole point. I've got a little money saved up for a bike. I've already got my gear. And i can't finance or get a loan on CRAP!

My Son went shopping yesterday on his day off .

He said that the color bike that " keys " wife is sitting on just had to be seen in person . Says it's much better than he thought by just see'ing pics . Looks like the Canadian 03 scheme kinda .

After some discussion , he bought a new old stock black/grey K6 since we'll mod it anyway did not have particular need for the map changer and saved big bucks .

I watch what I say ... this is Busa forum but when the 05 K5 1000 came out , the Busa was dethroned . Those little bikes will git !

On your question, can a 1000 be a tourer
rock.gif
? The answer is YES ! I rode my TL1000R on several 1000 mile 24 hour rallys with NO problems! You just have to set it up for YOU and your body. For me, it was easy, for others I don't know. Really the first time was because some of my Rally Buddies bet me I wouldn't, couldn't or would regret doing it. So, I did, NOT A PROBLEM

. 80% of it is in your head anyway if the bike is set up correctly

(Juggler @ Mar. 01 2007,13:17) It's a sweet machine!  Triple adjustable on the front and rear, and that 3-way ECM thing looks cool.

I'm hoping it will be mine.

It was funny because the sales guy I was talking to didn't even know what it was.
An incredable bike.  If I could afford another bike, that would be the one.
