i recieved a letter today from Keane co. which they specializes in location of the owners of assets , property etc...
i called the lady and she told me that they identified asset which belongs to me and valued about 4500.00 and can be turned to fund and send to me. the have fee of 30% of fund which they collect from the fund and sent me the 70%.
she did not tell me in detail where it was from but they will send me the paperwork to start the process.

my question to you guys is have anyone heard of this company and does it looks like a scam?
the only positive thing about it is that they take the money from asset and not from me and i will have about 3000.00 dollars that i did not have yesterday!

any thoughts????

If they are legit they will provide disclosure about who what where and why...

Otherwise, Don't you usually know if you're owed money, and 30% is WAY outta line.

I'm willing to be that you will be asked for upfront monies, "fees", Filing Charges Etc...

If you think you might be owed money, look into it, otherwise SCAM>>>

They contact you.... It's a scam. IMHO

Keane is a scam.... Internet is your friend....

Well it's NOT 100% clear that it's a scam, but 30% is a scam and if I have money owed to me of any substantial amount I'd know about it.

There are other sources out there for finding lost assets, state Comptroller etc...

SO maybe not a scam, but scumbags nonetheless.

I'd nose around some more and see what you can find... IF NOTHING turns up, and they require NO seriously personal information, I might proceed, but then again it's likely a property tax overpayment or something similar, you have rights to 100% of that, and I would be inclined to find it myself...

Yeah, it looks fancy... But I'd opt for another solution. Hell an attorney isn't even going to absorb 30%...

You should be able to get legit funds without their help. They are just trying to make a buck. Don't give out any information or send them money. Check with BBB (better business bureau).

Your state treasurer's web site will have all your unclaimed property on a list and yoiu do NOT need the help of another party to get it back.
