I have the Helibars, they made a huge difference in the comfort level. My thumb and first two fingers of my right hand would go numb after an hour or so ( a sure sign of carpel tunnel syndrome) but with the Helibars my hands have yet to go numb. I also use a throttle rocker and that helps as well.
Good luck!

cheers

With only 700 miles on the bike, you may want to give it some time. I'm 56 and had never ridden a sport bike. It takes some time to get used to. You hold yourself up with your abs. Scoot right up to the tank and grip the tank with your legs. Hands should have a light grip on the controls. One thing I have not seen mentioned is what kind of riding do you do. The busa is a high speed touring bike. When at highway speed the wind will hold you up from leaning on the bars. At slower speeds like putting around town, you will get more fatigued. The peg mod may help you. Mine has pegs off of a TL1000. That one mod made the biggest difference for me. Get on your busa and hit the highway, it will get better. I can ride mine all day long now, give it a chance.

(Suijuris @ Dec. 20 2006,11:25) I bought some helibars for my '06- but after 1k miles, I found that its just a matter of proper positioning, as most everyone else here is saying. pivot point is key.gotta stay off the bars for that-
I didnt put the helibars on, and doubt if I will. paid $100 for them on e bay- want em? I'd be willing to sell them to you for the $100- and I'll pay the shipping- if that will help you from letting your Busa go.
PM sent if you still have them. Worth a try.

I think the key to relieve the elbow problem is staying over 100....

Did not read all the post. Here goes. Don't change a thing. Start riding it. I promise in about 2500 more miles it will be the love of your life. Bone Stock '06 6800 miles and still going. Made a 1300 mile trip months ago. My hands use to go numb, my arms hurt, my neck hurt, my back hurt. Now I can ride all day long and put the young ones away without any discomfort. Don't know when it stopped, it just did. Now fire it up and go ride man. Have a blast.

(lifguardct @ Dec. 19 2006,20:05) I have an 06 Blue Busa, 700 miles, runs so SWeet... BUT!! It just does not fit me. I am not sure why I am 5'10" and about 210... I also have an 02 FZ1 and love the ergos. I am leaning toward selling the Busa already and getting a ZX14 or FJR1300. Even the 14 fits me better. I have tried 1.25" reaper risers and lowering the back end, helped but still not where I need it. I had a ZZR1200 and it had LSL bars, that was pretty good, kinda like the old "superbike" bars. Not sure what to do, someone may get a real nice Busa soon.
......and that someone might be me. I am shopping.

By the way bro, I appreciate the e-mails.

What happened? Heli's didn't work for you?

Amazing how many people jumped to help, and not 1 person asked in the thread how much you'd sell the 700 mile Busa for

I had a similar problem when first riding the Busa... Took about 3 months of steady riding to get the positioning correct.

I came off an ST1100...

Heli's didn't make enough of a change.

I have since listed it in the Busa Sales section.
