Just curious who it was that strafed me.

I was blippin' along at about 85 or so, normal cruise speed for my 75 mile commute to work on the interstate. At that speed I am moving faster than the cages so I don't usually watch mirrors as closely as in town, unless I am going to change lanes.

Someone on what looked to be a stock 06 black/silver blasted around me at prolly 130 or so and was accelerating hard. Well not being one to back down, I dropped 2, tucked in, and hammered it. At about 170 I was gaining ground on him, but the traffic was getting a little thicker so I back down. He may have slowed at little but after about 90 secs, he was totally out of sight. I dropped back down to 85 and continued my commute.

Don

PS. At least is was another Busa.

are you sure it wasn't a ZX 13.5.? Did the bike leave a vapor trail that smelled like frying burgers?

careful guy.... seems folks on this board "call a spade a spade" and anyone doing those speeds on the street is automatically an ####### and other cool adjectives... i know, i read it on this board.

Hey sorry man, I had just picked up my new '06 from the dealer after having it assembled and prepped fresh out of the crate. I wanted to do the hard break-in immediately so I headed for the interstate and was in the middle of my third full throttle cycle when I passed you, I couldn't let off the throttle for the sake of good ring seal. I tried to give you a wide berth but I apologize if I got too close. You understand don't you? I like your jacket by the way.

Not really sure what that means, but thrasher is correct. It is not a matter of doing those speeds on the street. It is a matter of when and where and whether or not you are putting anyone else at risk while doing it. There are several of us that ride up in that range when the conditions permit it.

yes...."supposed" to do those speeds.... that is why the right grip isn't variable on a busa...i forgot...please forgive me... besides, *I'm* not the one that has a problem with it....however had the OP had someone cause him to go down at that speed, i've read on this board that it wouldn't be their fault, but his own...even if a "wrong place, wrong time" situation....
