I talked to semi. He's riding out and back, so the race tires aren't going to get him there and back. He has a new tire on the way, but it won't be here in time to leave today. Not sure if he could get a tire off the rack installed in this short notice.

Now if someone happened to be passing by the STL area with an open slot on their trailer......

I'm sure wheeler's can get him rolling along.

Colen, give me a call and I'll meet you in Columbia if you can't find a tire there. You can use the spare thats in the trailer, it's almost new.

PS: If you wouldn't get lost on the way home and find yourself on all those backroads trying to find your house this wouldn't happen

guys and gals, you are all just too much...i can't express how great it is knowing someone cares and has your back when things go wrong

i have stayed off the board all day (first time in a long time i did that
wink.gif
) so i didn't know about your offers GSXcite and CAp (pm's sent)...thank you so much for your offers but i have to decline...save it until someone who really needs it (injury or family need) shows up...also BusaWhipped, thanks for your call this morning...like BW said, i have a new tire on the way and will be back up soon

i have found that things happen for a reason...if i had found the nail any earlier yesterday, i could have gotten it fixed and made it to Wheeler's as has been suggested...btw, this is a Diablo Strada  and <s>has</s> would have had about 2500-3000 more miles on it...it wasn't meant to be so i just accept it and roll on

i can't feel sorry for myself...i haven't gone down (knock on wood= my head) and my life, other than this, is going well...there are several of my friends that i see struggling right now and if you have time, say a prayer or send good thoughts their way (whatever you believe)...thank you to each and every one of you...you are the best

btw GSXcite, i have meant to go on every backroad i have been on lately

This might be a little late, but if you plug it and ride on, i will pick up the tab at Wheelers or you can ride on my spare wheel. I will have my spare wheels with me this time since I'm trailering. Last time I ended up using one of Hal's, oh, I will have spare set of bearings too.... just in case...

PS - do you want fries with those chicken strips....

ok, here is a better pic for all of you talking bad about my tire (it's worn out and my massive chicken strips)
tounge.gif

i wiped off the dust and tried to get a little light on the subject...this is a Pirelli Diablo Strada with approximately 3500 miles on it...it would have had another 2500-3000 miles of duty and as you can see, i have been almost all the way over on it- and that is on regular backroads in IL, MO, IA, AR, TN, MS, UT, and NV

the manufacturer says it doesn't quite have the grip of the Diablo on a dry road but it is good enough for me and it is solid as a rock in the rain (also handles dirt, gravel, shallow washes, and just about anything else except nails

)

don't worry, i didn't take offense at anything said, i'm just trying to keep laughing this weekend

once again, thanks for all your offers of help and for helping to keep a smile on my face...you all rock

I take the "chicken strip" remark back and replace it with CHICKEN PLANKS!!!! If I didn't know any better I would have thought you lived in FL (319miles and 11 turns)...
