I have a set of DDM lights in a box in my garage. They arrived at my home while I was away on advanced training (active duty military) and I did not have the chance to put them on after returning home. Now, we are packing our house up to move, so I won't have the chance to install them until September or later......

I am looking forward to this as my commute to work will be 45 minutes or more one way. I will be taking the Busa on most of these days to conserve on gas that my F-150 would be sucking away at.

Not to hijack, but does anybody know where to get the switchbacks from besides GixerHP? He's not doing them anymore and I really want to get that done when I install my HID's.

Autolumination.com has the switch backs. You also have to convert your 1156 sockets to 1157 sockets to make the switch back work too! They also have the sockets too.

DDMtuning.com is the link you are asking for!

READKAT05.... Remove the windshield. Then the dash trim panels. The the ram air covers . The dash (Gauges) panel. Then you got access to the headlamps. (low/high beams) If you get the DDM tuning hids.... the ballasts are smaller so you can mount them together on the right ram air tube. If not you can mount one on each ram air tube like this gen 1's. The ddm tunings ballast are slim where this gen one I did was taller and wider. Reason why they are on both ram air tubes for more room. On gen 2's no room on left hand side. You double stack them, on the right ram air tune!

DDM 35W & 55W Single Motorcycle HID System: DDM Tuning - HID Kits, DEPO Lights, BMW & Porsche Lighting & Bumpers

When ordering a kit you need to order one for each bulb type you have!

Gen 1's take H7 (one kit) and H5/9005 (one kit) total of 2

Gen 2's take H7 (one kit) and H9 (one kit) total of 2

35 watt kit with a 6k bulb will work great! Got them both on my 08 busa and now the 09 1k!

55 watt is over kill!

I hope it's got a good pattern. I turned the projector blocking plate 180 last summer in anticipation of gettin em done then. I forget who originated that mod but he said it prevented blinding of oncoming traffic

Don't know much about those. I ordered mine from HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning
They ran me $35.68 with shipping. Took about three weeks. They had them on sale for like $25 bucks at the time.
I looked at the DDM site before but I didn't really know exactly what I needed, and the other site kinda does it all for you, if you know what I mean. Also, I've read some negative stories about DDM's customer service, which makes me wary of them since I'm buying from overseas.
EDIT: There must be a big difference between the two types of HID kits, because mine cost $149!

I love mine. Did a DDMTuning kit, 55w 8000K low beam. The 8000 looks more like 6000K because of the higher wattage. I know I get noticed more by other drivers then before the HID. I also have switchbacks.

Personnaly I would not want to be looking at that head on. If you can't swing the retrofit I think you should leave em alone.
