How to adjust TPS

I was going to adjust my TPS sensor yesterday, showing too high; however when I got to looking the sensor that is shown in the service manual and the 04 model are different. How do you adjust the TPS on an 04 model? What is the symptons of a improperly set TPS. Thanks.

Thanks for looking JC, the service manual I have is the one downloaded from this site for 99-00, but looking at the pic and the one on my bike, I just can't figure out how to adjust it.

it is the same as 99-00 but you olny have on torx screww to loosen

JC is correct, slightly loosen the torx screw, and you'll rotate the TPS around the axis of the screw forward or backward.

Be warned that only a little movement is required, and it's a pain in the butt to set, because tightening the screw will screw up your adjustment.

Not a very smart way of implementing a sensor in my opinion, but don't be surprised if it takes a bit of fiddling.

Thanks Juggler and JC, that's the part that was getting me. I figured you loosened the screw and then had something else to adjust. Guess not. Thanks.
