It's been awhile since I checked the daily flow of emails across the mail server to see about load and bandwidth. I used Friday as the sample day and here is what I found....

We sent mail to 1286 different mail servers..

We received mail from 313 different mail servers

We had a total of 14,274 emails go throught he mail server for Hayabusa.org the reasons include:

  1. Happy Birthday Notices
  2. Subscriptions to the forum
  3. Calendar Updates
  4. Trouble Tickets
  5. Email Users
  6. PM Notifications

That's a lot of mail......

With a lot of people at the bash, I would think that Friday would have been a slow day ???

If it helps, I will give up the next three years of Birthdays. I could use a break anyway.
J/k
That's a lot of stuff going on.

IMO

The mail should just be for users of this site.
If they want to send mail off the site then there are lots of other mail servers to be used.
If we keep the mail on the .ORG to ourselves, then that will save lots of bandwidth.
Hey hotmail etc is free, so we should use it.

again, JMO
