pretty awesome to see but you gotta think they arent just doing that for kicks, I'm sure there are some situations that require those skills and I'm pretty sure I'd be a pretty horrible passenger then too

There are a series of DVD's out there called "Big Rocks and Long Props". I'm not kidding, that's what they called it. In these videos, they put those skills to practical use. It's amazing the tiny little out-of-the-way spots these guys land for fishing/camping, or whatever. Those planes are hard core dual sports with wings. Makes me want to cut the nose gear off my plane and make it a bush plane.
