Here comes the tariffs.......

Definition: You’re tired of getting your a s s kicked at debate. Try being right, it’ll increase your chances substantially.
I am “right” actually.
You are the one who is left. Far left, actually.
In this context, “Try and be correct”, would have been more appropriate grammar.

I’m curious? Did they teach you economics at the Mercedes dealership? They didn’t do a very good job of teaching you how to dial in the old Bosch mechanical injector pump, BTW.

I understand that system better than you imagine. I owned a 1983 SL380 for years. You’ll try to teach me about it I’m sure. That’s just your way.

I have a good memory.
You said you never tuned one on a dyno.
After mechanical adjustments, that pump had to be verified with final adjustments on the dyno. I did not do only one, trained multiple techs on how to do it.
It is the only way to get it 100% dialed in. There are some special tools involved as well with the manual process.

Try to teach you about it?
I’m not good at venturing towards achieving the impossible. You are a rigid contrarian.

But yes, I can still remember the entire process from A-Z and can post it up. I did not work at a dealership, I worked for MB and trained techs on their entire range, trucks, cars, diesel etc.

You seem to have this all figured out.....good for you.......

It's a rare thing to achieve perfection.....
BTW, I have sympathy for how you guys feel and I understand it. Trump is not a good leadership example. Where I differ, is I don’t think I do my country any good by advertising the negatives, and rather focus on the positives.

I get that, what is happening right now sparks quite a bit of passion and there are few positives to focus on.

I have yet to encounter one person who is happy about what is going on and that includes many former pro-Trumpers.

I am loyal to my country, I am also smart enough to know that the actions of this administration doesn’t reflect all of America

I definitely don’t chastise anyone who says they are travelling to the US.

When people get offended, which I understand, human behavior tends to turn blind towards any positives. What the heart feels, fuels the mind.

I tend to focus on my personal life, and what affects that. My investments this year have done exceptionally well, and my business has a lot less stress than last year.

We had a real challenge the past year getting trades to do the work. They could pick and choose when and who they wanted to do work for. We had to cut back on customers, delay jobs, have unsatisfied customers because of how long it took to get stuff done. Many of the crews had folks who could not speak a word of English.

This year, I have guys calling me, looking for work. We have completed a number of projects, where the whole crew are local Americans. It has been a lot easier and we experienced a lot more volume.

So, ignoring all the politics, personally I had a much better year.

Honestly, other than the threat on the sovereignty of my country, none of this affects me personally. I have many family members and acquaintances of whom I served with living there so it’s easy to rile me I suppose

For most of my life I never forayed into anything political so basically this is all relatively new to me

We didn’t have a dyno at the dealership, and certainly not at my home. I don’t know of a dealership in this area that has a dyno. Line pressure is key on that system to within hundredths of a bar. On my 380 it was adjusted with a regulator that used shims against a spring. I figured you’d have a better response than about a dyno. That has nothing to do with understanding a mechanical injection system. 40 years and I learned something almost every day because I wasn’t obsessed with proclaiming myself the smartest guy in the room.

That is probably in later life for you. I left the industry in 1983. Back then, there were select dealers who were equipped to do that. It was not in the United States. Typically those few dealers would do everything, from semi trucks to cars, rebuilding engines, transmissions etc., they would do the the K-Jetronic Bosch pumps as well and always had to do final dyno verification. There were a few major hubs around equipped to do this, providing a service to smaller dealers.

I came to the US in 2001, that is 17 years after I left the automotive industry, so I have no idea how you did things over here.

I did a formal apprenticeship with Mercedes in South Africa, then got a scholarship to college from Daimler Benz AG. From there I was based in Stuttgart Germany and worked all over Europe.

So on cars after 1983 you would know more than me.

You equate the stock market, a prognostication, directly to the state of the economy. The people most affected by tariffs, by and large, aren't as concerned with the stock market as you. Their concern is what percentage of their next check will go for groceries and necessary goods. A bull market surely empowers our President and his wealthy comrades. Meanwhile, Trump actually tried to define the word grocery, as if it were a new idea.
The stock market and the overall state of the economy are more loosely tied than some believe.
Yes, the economy sucks right?

Can’t wait to see what smart a&$ remark you come up with next?

Nah. In person, yes. Talking to you through keyboards is absolutely fruitless as you have no clue but sling nonsense as if you do.
No clue right?
All those people who don’t understand the stock market and don’t know what happens to their next check, spent more at Walmart than ever before?
Yep, I have no clue.
What I am not good at, apparently, is explaining to someone in the simplest manner possible, that the economy is not what they think it is.

You do provide a lot of entertainment though, I must admit.

You just proved me correct. My grocery bills are up, so are everyone else’s. Maybe Trump can define the word for us again.
Do something better with your time.
Have a great life

Wrong again, CPI is at 2.4% Walmart up almost 6%.

Now if they teached you math at the Mercedes dealership, you would know consumer spending at Walmart excluding price increases were 6%-2.4%.

That is a growth in pure buying of 3.6%.

Wasting time, is when one is always wrong.
