I have a question for owners of the gen3 hayabusa. Mine has just had its 46000km service done. Approximately 2000kms ago , I noticed oil leaking from the stator cover, upon having the bike serviced today, it was noticed that the leakage was coming from the input leads location. Having been told the stator is a complete unit which includes the seal area going in as per photo. Has anyone else experienced such a problem? Is this considered wear and tear at such short mileage compare to.my other busas all have done over 90000kms each with no issues.

I wouldn't expect it to leak. That lead is indeed fixed on the stator. I would pull the cover and see if there is anything stopping the seal from sitting flush.

The rubber "seal" seems to be toasted and became rock'ish.
I've had the same issue on my other bike (VFR1200FD, had 80.000km at that time) and fixed it in 5 minutes.
You have to buy Victor Reinz Reinzosil, take off the cover (without even unpluggin' connector), pull the seal out, use some kind of oil remover from the rubber seal (acetone, brake cleaner etc.), and put a little bead of sealant around the rubber itself and around the wiring loom (where it passes through).
Put it back and wait for about 30 minutes, then you can start the bike and ride it.
Also I would suggest to wash the bike BEFORE you start to take the stator cover off.

This is the best "engine/gasket" sealant you can buy, I've been using it for more than a decade and never had an issue after using it.

I don’t have a Gen3, so can’t compare, but looking at the insulation tape and zip tie, it looks like there was some after market work done in the area of that wiring?

When I prep the cover for installation with the stator attached, I always pull the rubber grommet out. I clean the surface thoroughly on both sides, Engine and cover side, then I take brake cleaner, and I clean the rubber grommet real good, so it's dry when I apply the Suzuki bond and then I put a light film on the gasket, put them together, torque to spec to 10nm I believe, and you'll be done. Let gasket cure thoroughly with adhesive after installation don't run the motor for a couple of hours.

If the cover and the engine surfaces are dry and clean, including the pocket where the rubber gasket goes, and the rubber gasket has been cleaned thoroughly. You should have very little issue.

Check all the bolts - my Gen3 had seepage around the stator cover just like the photo. Turns out all the bolts were barely tightened all the way around - from the factory.
Never seen that before on any of my three other Hayabusas. Tightened up all the bolts - seepage issue solved.

Nah, not aftermarket work, standard Suzuki work, bike is only 2 years old , suspect either dodgy assembly where wiring input seals with casing or inferior rubber seal grommet

That is standard craftsmanship from Suzuki,my 3 is exactly the same.....Built by a 4 year old.

Wow, even when I work on automotive stuff, I use proper shrink sleeves and make things look the same as factory professional.

What are those two insulation taped up orange gizmo's upper right of photo? Not challenging you, but really hard to believe it came from the factory that way?

My gen3 looked exactly the same there as well. I think those orange gizmos that you mention are grounds that are spliced together, if I remember correctly...

Factory = production qty purpose in first hand.
I've had Honda CRF250R (MX bike) 2018 m.y. and when it blew the rod out of the crankcase (at only 90 hours!) I've had to disassemble the whole bike actually... You'd be suprised how shitty those wiring looms made!
Again it was a 1 year old bike, not some junkyard 20 yo walking dead after 56 owners who fixed it in their backyard with cheap electrical tape - it came from the factory!
And they're not cheap btw (for what you get)
