Gen1 vs Gen2 airbox performance

I read on a forum that the gen2 airbox flows better then gen1. I desided to buy one and fit to my 1397ccm gen1, since it would be a cheap mod/upgrade.
Since the throttle body spacing is different (80-80-80mm Gen1 vs 75-90-75mm Gen2) I made a cut out around the existing holes on the gen2 airbox and 3dprinted an adaptor plate to fit gen1 TBs. If anyone is interested in the plate here is a link to Tinkercad: 3D design gen2 airbox v2 | Tinkercad
The adaptor plate was bolted on with M3 screws and silicone between plate and airbox.

I did a 50 min test ride with dyno butt and Woolich log box. No big difference other then sound from airbox (a little louder then gen1 airbox)
When I got home I downloaded the Woolich log file and ran Autotune.
My theory is, if the gen2 airbox flows more air, the AFR ratio will change to a leaner condition. So if autotune wants to richen the AFR mix, gen2 airbox flows better...
Unfortunately there was no real difference in logged AFR and target AFR anywhere in the fuel map, so my conclusion is that a gen1 w/large airbox mod and a gen2 airbox flows about the same, at least on my bike. For the record, my Gen1 airbox has a BMC filter and gen2 has a OEM filter.
