Gen 2 rearsets on Gen 3??

DroolI’d like a little more adjustability in my foot position and have been looking into the Gen 2 stuff Vortex and Driven are at the top of the list currently as I’m looking to go down/back more than I am up. I know sato makes sets for our bikes but they only allow for up adjustability.

I can’t see why bolting on a set of Gen 2 rearsets and then making my own shift rod for the QS unit wouldn’t work. I don’t have a rear brake so I’m really just focused on the left side.

Anyone done this yet? Waiting to hear back from driven but I like the looks of their TT set over the Vortex just a bit. Plus they come in Ti :drool:

Found these on eBay ordered them in. Look to fit and decent quality but the shift linkage is way to long. Looks like it’s meant to replace the whole quick shift mechanism. Going to have to fab a short linkage to keep the quick shifter.

That’s why I want them. I don’t see why they won’t, may take a few hardware store trips to make the QS linkage but it’s nothing that hasn’t been done before.

I also want to go GP pattern when I do this so it’ll be the time to flip the QS itself around and make sure nothing binds.
Dynojet sells linkages in different lengths.

Following for future updates
it'll pry be Monday night before I have time to work on this, but I'm going to try to sneak a few hours of wrenching in over the weekend. Fridays are my Mondays usually so it's not too hopeful.

On initial look, the rears linkage is much thicker than the stock one. Im thinking I may have to take the Vortex one and stick it in a lathe and turn it down and then cut some threads myself on it.

Quickshifter won't work in GP pattern. You'll have to get the one from Woolich to replace the factory one.

Damn. I remember a while back people had said they emailed Chris Moore about it and he said it needed to be reversed. I just turned the knuckle over for an afternoon and sometimes it shifted good and sometimes it seemed to just "fall" into gear so I knew something was up lolol

How many wires does the quick shifter switch have? If it is three wires, maybe it's just two switches. If that is the case, I wonder if you can swap two of the wires so that the switches correspond to which way the quick shifter is being pressed.

A lot of quick shifters are simply switches but not all of them. This could be figured out pretty quickly with a ohmmeter if you know how to read it.

i said that months ago but since i have no interest i never tested it....

Gen 2 will work, you need to flip the quick shifter to do a GP pattern, For the shifter you will need smaller extension

I thought I posted this a while back

We talked briefly about it once a whiiiiile ago, but I forgot you were the one with them

I spoke to our local electronic wizard and he said stock QS isn’t gonna like GP style and it would mostly likely blip the up shifts and not the downshifts. Once I get everything on I’ll worry about getting a woolich one.
