Fuel Tank Question

Will a 2000 fuel tank work on an 04 bike?
I know that the 00 is external pump while the 04 is internal, but will the 04 fuel pump mount into the 00 tank?

What year did the fuel pump go internal ? I got a 2003 boywork set for sale complete with tank .

99-00 external fuel pump.
01-up internal.

pipe,you have to do alittle bit of work.You can make the 00 tank work but will have to use a 99-00 pump assembly.You can use the 04 but have to have a 04 in tank pump or a plate with the bungs on the bottom to use the 04 tank with a 00 pump.

If you need something let me know I have all the parts you need to get this done.
