Hi all,

I have a '99 with standard exhaust. I think it might have a K&N fitted as well, I haven't checked but there's a K&N sticker in the doc folder.

Anyway, a dealer had it briefly to replace the coolant and he commented that it doesn't feel like other Hayabusas - it's more jerky in traffic etc. Could my ECU have been remapped by a previous owner and if so how do I reset it to factory settings?

Also, I think it's running rather rich - certainly when I start her up the fuel smell is very pungent.

Any opinions on this out there?

Lift tank up and do visual on air filter.. see if it is.. K & N's are pinkish looking.. cleanable and not cheap.. Stock are white paper filter types. if dirty it will cause problems. Then ECU mapping is another idea too.. check them..
I replaced my ECU with one custom mapped for other mods and it runs like a bike on steroids at higher speeds but in town, idle issues.. doesnt want to run right.. tried upping idle but it goes from 800 to 2500 .. no happy medium.. good luck on yours..:beerchug:

Busa's run a little rich. Clogged Air filter could cause this, old/fouled spark plugs.
