Drag boat crash

been down that race course at least 100 times (fuel altered and drag boat in my sig were both at firebird)... never at those speeds in the boat, but there have been a number of notable top fuelers crash there and dozen or more of us slow guys..

Eddie Hill and Ralph Padilla (ex owner of IHBA) also crashed their top fuel boats at Firechicken...

would have to say if you are going to crash a boat at speed? that is the safest place in the world to do it... water is not that deep, level 1 trauma center is only a few minutes away and the chopper to get you there is in sight of the lakes exit ramp...

hope driver is ok.... scary stuff...

Now...that's a BUSA eater~!~
drag boats scream the first 1/8th compared to land based..(running start)

we would run 4.3-4.5 eight mile times at 135-138 mph and only pick up 25-30 mph in the second half...

Yup just listen to the motor you know what that boat is going to do. Tim Morgan taseted the sand, And Rick Hendrixs boat.

we had one go out the back door with a stuck throttle in I think 98?at firebird and hit the power lines (sure it is on youtube somewhere) and another one in 96 at Bakersfield (also on Youtube)... pretty impressive watching a boat hit a 30' dirt ramp at 125+ (both drivers bailed before impact..)
