Don't like this site either

You guys posted exactly what I thought you would.  Anyone who has an opinion other than what the censors of this board feels is appropriate to talk about is slammed.

The majority of people who visit this forum and others do so for information on the Hayabusa.  Some people post, other read the information.  My comment “sometimes you guys are just a little to full of yourselves†is in regards to some of the post that I read on this page stating how bad all the other Hayabusa pages are.  If this is considered a negative comment some of you guys have lived a very sheltered life and need to grow some thicker skin.  Just because I don’t agree with your opinion, doesn’t mean I can’t state my own.

I enjoy coming to this board as well as others.  I make comments when I have something to contribute to the conversation.  I don’t believe in post whoring just to bring my numbers up.

As far as the avatar – “it’s a joke†that I thought was funny.  If you think its porn, you need to get a life…

nah........I was joking..........i know some porn now.

And I had no idea that this topic would generate such lengthy, heated responses. I was simply making a statement, even a rhetoric statement if you will.

I JUST LIKE THIS SITE BETTER.....THAT'S IT.......NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS.

Just wanted people to know that I enjoy the company here and often look forward to reading threads and posting replies.

Flying Swan and Captain, thanks for your comments.

Thinker - we are going to have to agree to disagree...

I think the board has gotten very repetitious and is running out of content. Frankly, the board has gotten me board. Also I am not impressed with the literary censorship and the unwillingness for discussions on controversial topics, unless it fits in with the current politically accepted viewpoint of the majority of its members. So there, I said it.  Have a nice day.
Hank......now you know you're one of the faithful few, but don't you own a FJR?

LOL...........just kidding.........I have inadvertently created a small amount of tension over this site thing....sorry.............was just typing what I was thinking.

Hey Puck, I thought using a "Yo Momma" joke would lighten things up. Obviously not, however my intention was not to make people mad, only to get a little light-hearted jabbing started. For what it's worth, my .02.

I have said it many times before and I will say it again, I frequent suzukihayabusa.org daily, I see things that I do like and things that I don't, the fact of the matter is that at any point I have the option to not come back. I used to go to Labusas and read the threads there but I did not care for the flavor of the content I chose not to go back. Thats the cool thing about the Internet you have choices. Now as far as the members and content here, I try to keep it clean thats my choice, I try to allow open forums and little censorship in regards to opinions and subject matter, however there have been times that I have removed or cleaned up post on the basis that the content did not fit into my vision for this website. I have had many discussions from members of suzukihayabusa and Labusas, to stereotype all members from a site into one catagory would be a mistake. Labusas is a little more vocal with their opinions and I sometimes do not care for the content but I still respect the members there. SH.org is the same way, there is no way that I could compete with Dennis when it comes to working on a busa, I have a difficult time changing the plugs in mine. However he has a different feel to his site and I enjoy going there for a different point of view. All in all I dont think that one site is any better than the other I think it boils down to what site you feel more comfortable at. Just because you fit in this one doesnt mean that the others are garbage, it just means that you prefer it here...... So guys be careful in your wording, sometimes it comes off sounding condescending. If you like it here then stick around, if you like it there great but whatever you do don't get caught up in flame wars over something that everyone could be right on....

Captain's personal opinion....
Yes Cap. is right. Like I also said good things in a lot of different packages. I am a real long standing member of SuzukiHayabusa.org, even before here. I do love chatting with you all here more. It is just better here in lots of ways. So great that we are here, but just remember lots of guys are on lots of sites.

Puck and I have agreed to dissagree, but I still have issued a challange to him. But whether he take it or not, I think we are cool...and this is how you discuss things in a mature manner.

Hank, I have to say that this is around the third time that you seem to come out of left field. If you think the board is boring and repetitious, that is fair enough, I can be pretty boring. But haven't you heard of constructive critisism. What are your ideas to make it better? I don't think that your name appears in the Topic Starter heading very often. If you are truly bored,.....well I guess the solution is obvious enough.

Now, with regard to this statement:I am not impressed with the literary censorship and the unwillingness for discussions on controversial topics, unless it fits in with the current politically accepted viewpoint of the majority of its members.[/QUOTE]
Again, I do not even follow you. Captain is a hands off guy. I don't think it is unfair for him to censor nudity and inappropriate language, but he does NOT censor ideas. And you use the phrase "unwillingness for discussions on controversial topics, unless it fits in with the current politically accepted viewpoint..." That is a heavy claim. If you are going to make that kind of statement, it would stand to reason that you would back it up with a couple of examples, at least one.

Since December, we have talked about topics like the Trent Lott incident, Nudity as it relates to motorcycles, "rudeness On-line", "Sermon of John Hagee", Shaq's racial comment, "Iraq and North Korea", and many more. Never did Captain ask us not to discuss these issues! And, in most cases we did not totally agree, but learned something and agreed to dissagree. They were intelligent exchanges, with one simple rule...RESPECT. Everyone respected the views of others, and no one was wantanly rude, harsh, personal, or insensitive. There were very few sweeping generalizations, and we attempted to stay focused on the topic/incident at hand.

So that is the way I see it. But I have been wrong before. I respectfully invite you to show some examples where the Captain/the board in general has been unwilling to discuss controversial issues, any controversial issue.

Respectfully,
Thinker

I think what really bothers me about all boards, but this one the least, is when people start a topic or reply with the intent of getting people frustrated. I am not claiming that this thread started that way and I am not pointing fingers at anyone or any board, but you all know what I mean. They start an arguement simply because they are board and thrill in the fact that other people are frustrated by it.
I have a pic of a kid crossing the finish line at the special olympics, but I was unable to post it here due to a glitch.
It says,"Arguing on the internet is like participating at the Special Olympics, even if you win, you are still retarded!"
I like a good debate, but arguing over a jab or comment becomes juvenile at best.

Well I do consider this site to be politically correct. If you step to far away from that line you will get a lecture.

Thinker I don't understand the challenge to Puck? Why should he do it? I read a lot of other sites and read some of your posts on other sites and I don't recall them bashing our site for any reason. (Capt) Your site really! So why do we seem to point out perceived flaws in theirs?

Good point. That is why we are here. Very rare to see someone post just to get a rise out of people. Only time I ahve seen it is a joke, and when that happens it is clearly a joke.

You are correct Marc. Also Cap. did make it clear several times about the different sites and that he is a part of those sites, just like I am. They are there, they are different, and we can all enjoy as seems fit.
