Here's a few shots of my new Pilot Power rear after a few hundred miles and two good twisty rides. They just don't seem to wear at all past scrubbin' in, just like on Train... I think the rubber teets had just wore off at around 800 miles on Train...
Anyway, left strip is GONE... First tire I've ever done this to, so I'm pretty proud of it seein' as how I didn't cheat them off, but "earned" them.
All the way to the edge, past the Michelin Man's feet.
Right side strip is still there, but barely. It's about 2.5mm wide still. Just haven't hit a good right hander hard enough to need that much lean to the right yet. It'll get there eventually though.
It's hard to see in this pic (raining... so poor indoor lighting. Sorry.) but I'm over to about the Michelin Man's shoulder and the directional arrow on that side. Not bad for only two decent twisty rides on new tires.
And here's a shot of the middle section with the rubber teets still hangin' on for dear life. Tough little suckers. I think the rubber teets were gone from the D218 rear when I got home from the dealership with Diablo.
Can't wait for the weather to cooperate for another good twisty ride. I'm hoping to make it to the North Georgia Mountains pretty soon. Should be a good workout for the Powers.
