Here's a few shots of my new Pilot Power rear after a few hundred miles and two good twisty rides. They just don't seem to wear at all past scrubbin' in, just like on Train... I think the rubber teets had just wore off at around 800 miles on Train...

Anyway, left strip is GONE... First tire I've ever done this to, so I'm pretty proud of it seein' as how I didn't cheat them off, but "earned" them.

All the way to the edge, past the Michelin Man's feet.

Right side strip is still there, but barely. It's about 2.5mm wide still. Just haven't hit a good right hander hard enough to need that much lean to the right yet. It'll get there eventually though.

It's hard to see in this pic (raining... so poor indoor lighting. Sorry.) but I'm over to about the Michelin Man's shoulder and the directional arrow on that side. Not bad for only two decent twisty rides on new tires.

And here's a shot of the middle section with the rubber teets still hangin' on for dear life. Tough little suckers. I think the rubber teets were gone from the D218 rear when I got home from the dealership with Diablo.

Can't wait for the weather to cooperate for another good twisty ride. I'm hoping to make it to the North Georgia Mountains pretty soon. Should be a good workout for the Powers.

Looking good Chris ... you're leaning that bad boy ... those pilot powers do inspire a lot of confidence don't they?

Yes, they do.

In the corner that I'm sure got the left strip I felt like I was leaned so far over that if I had hung my knee out much at all it would have been on the ground. Not good since I don't have leather pants/sliders, so I kept it almost fully tucked in and just used upper body lean for body steering. My helmet was inline with the left mirror in that corner!

I need to hurry up and lose the rest of my weight so I can get leathers/sliders!

It's always cool to push past previous "limits" and gain the experience that comes along with it. You always think you're leaning WAY over, but then you go a little further and think that's the limit. I'm sure I'm still not at the limits of lean by any means, but getting that close is plenty for me on the street.

No, I'm posting up pics of a personal accomplishment to share it with some friends that have been around since I started this hobby. I've only been sport riding for... what?... two years now? And have been part of this forum, and family, since I started. This is the first time I've ever been that far over on a tire. I was just proud of how far I've come in the past couple years and wanted to share it with the folks who have followed along with me. That's all...

Be careful bro! Having no chicken strips means having little or no reserve left when in the twisties... I learned that lesson last year the hard way. Don't want anyone else to got through that.

Other than that, looking good!

Yeah, I think I'm to the point that I'm almost ready to learn to drag a knee instead of leaning so far. Hanging off further would require less lean angle, leaving me more tire in reserve, but I can't risk touchin' a knee down without pucks...

I've actually slowed my overall pace down in that I've lost my need for speed in the straights (believe it or not...) but my corner speed keeps slowly rising as I gain confidence and experience on the 10. On a good day when I'm in the groove and everything is clickin' just right I easily beat my busa corner speeds on the same roads by as much as 30 mph in some corners... and I felt like I was pushin' the Hell out of the busa back then.

I think I do need to back off a notch until I am better equipped (leather/pucks).
