Thinking about a big change. Asking for thoughts/ideas from members around the world. Immigration laws, etc. It seems ridiculously easy to move to Canada. Seems. Families move here where 1 out of the 8 speaks English (or French) and the rest have no desire to learn the language or adapt at all. They seem to get health care, social and financial assitance, get jobs and buy houses. Thats all fine.I guess its how this country works. Now if a person wanted to move to your country, how hard is it? Every country appears to be totally different.
Now before you panic and call your country's immigration authorities and warn them of my intentions...feed me some good truthful info info please.
I'm not sure where I'd like to go,but have some criteria. First and foremost...is your place "Busa Friendly?" I know we have members all over the world, but I have no interest in 3rd world countries or nasty climates. I recall we had a member from Iceland. No offence, but I'll pass on that destination. Just spit-balling here, but others seem to be able to turn their dreams into reality.
If an offer is put on the table that includes me marrying your somewhat unattractive spinster sister...and there are bonus's for me...
I'm all in. I'm that flexible.

Well, honestly the good old USA is pretty easy. Once Biden gets in it will be open borders so you could get here easily. USA is very busa friendly. Insurance little high sometimes depending on company and location. I would stay away from any big city. They are all socialist cities and you will find it becomes a lot like Canada. Small town USA is the life and there isn't anything better than finding you some small town girl! Dunno what you do career wise but this area (Omaha, Nebraska) has a very very low unemployment rate, and work is there if you want it basically. Im sure you are familiar enough with our immigration laws to pull it off.

I won't get political like Red and VIPER. The Ozarks have awesome motorcycle roads. Winter (November through February) can be very not bike friendly, but I'm sure you're used to that. Rent and commodities are affordable although rent has been going up pretty quickly. Sorry I have no love connections for you; you're on your own there. Work is available for someone that actually wants or will commit to work. I hear the opposite being a problem all the time. All that said, I plan to move to California when I retire; I'm sick of the cold winter.

A "vacation" to Mexico is in order, stay long enough to get a nice tan, then proceed to the U.S. border for a quick swim. This is your chance to be one of the 11,000,000 granted citizenship under the Harris/Biden regime.Might as well pick up a few Senoritas on the way.

I know some people that were here illegally and for them to get legal status is lots of work and $$$$. If you do it legally I’m sure it’s not as hard. But I have no idea.
States some have vehicle inspections and you have be legit or know a guy. Here in Iowa they don’t care could be most unsafe car or earth as long as it’s insured and registered it’s good to go. So no problem with the turbo Busa.

I’d say move to NZ, but our borders are closed to immigrants at present and you’d probably find the place is too confined area wise, small small small.
We are Busa friendly but I dunno bout turboed Busas, big problems with compliance rules here.

The immigration laws to come to Canada for foreigners have become very different and very strict over the last 10 years.
Everyone who think it's easy has NO idea.

Not only to mention the amount of money and work (application) you need...as well as the proof that you are not ending up as a burden to the system and after all the length for the whole process.
It's a huge pain in the butt.

There are certainly countries which make it much easier than Canada!

Unless of course you are a “refugee” and from a poor minority group, then it’s just like . . . “C’mon in, here, have a house and furnishings, have a bank account with $12k in it, have a weekly income all paid for by the taxpayers, don’t worry about having a health check, bring your diseases with you no problem”
This is how it’s been in NZ for decades. . .

Ruhbah, it is not as easy as you think to get into Canada. My daughter has been trying, she has a Masters in computer science and a high level job. First she needs to find an employer who is willing to sponsor her, then she can start the process. With no contacts in Canada in her professional field and applying for employment from abroad is a pretty hard challenge.

Personally, I have been in and out of the US since 1983, use to work for a major US corporation and use to pump around $400 million business into the US a year from abroad. My wife is an American born citizen.

Back in 2000 we flew into Phoenix, her with an American passport, me with a foreign passport as well as a business entry. They let her through and the moment they realized she was my wife, they refused my entry. They said I was going to stay illegally. After about three interviews, they finally let me in as I had a return air fair about one week out. After that I started the immigration process, which took five years, a lot of red tape and a lot of hassle.

Don’t know, perhaps it is different for a Canadian?

After what I had to go through to do things right, I have to say I have no sympathy for illegal immigrants.

But here’s the thing. With that turbo on your Busa, they won’t even see you when you cross the border. :race:

Anything I can do to help out @jellyrug ? Does she need job leads or sponsorship? Somebody I know, will know somebody in the Comp Sci department at the University of Victoria.I have 35 years in there. I could ask what/where those grads go/do after completion.

I think I've had enough of living on an' island Kiwi. Moving to a bigger one might be better, but I think I'd prefer a continent.

Good luck on the small town girl! They all leave here as soon as they graduate HS. We have fewer women than men here and the women that are available......? If they came here or stayed here and they're single, there's something wrong. Well, if your looking to get citizenship through marriage, I'd look into how may years you need to put into the marriage before your citizenship is permanent.

I have heard cool stuff about the Ozarks. Loved Cali, been there 3 times. I drove around the L.A. area once for 3 weeks, that was sweet. Hit the beaches etc. Fun times. What an' awesome place to retire.

I hear ya man, hey, they say the Continent of Antarctica is nice this time of year....
dunno if ya can register a Busa there though . .hmmmmm, I'll check on that.

Sounds cool @VIPER. I would love to work in a bike shop, but I am not ticketed. I could challenge the test and most likely succeed thou. I can do just about anything I put my hand to,I just dont want to be bored for these last 10 years or so. Heavy manual labor is out...I am way to busted up for that.
