computer problem?

I have a dell latitude 800 and the volume and mute button have decided not to work? Does anyone know how to unlock it? I have run all spyware and virus applications to see if that could be the problem and they came up blank. I have XP... Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind... Just found fn... God I'm a dumbass.

You ought to try Googling "Dell Latitude common problems" you might find that it is a common thing. Maybe you could also go into the bios and see if you can find any settings there.
The control panel should have something in "sounds and audio devices" or "Keyboard"
