Considering upgrading my soundcard and the new one says 2.1 PCI slot required. I'm running an older (by PC standards) Dell using XP profesional. How do can I tell if my PCI slots are 2.1?

you can go to Dell with your model number and look up the specs.... you could go to Belarc.com and get their free "advisor" and run a hardware profile scan, then look up the hardware specs that way.. I'm not an expert so others feel free to jump in here.

PCI2 slots are usually white with one divider built in..

If you computer is less than 5 years old, I would be pretty certain it has the slot you need..

Best way to verify is get the model number off the motherboard and google it...

New stuff is PCI express..
