I have a 2000 busa, I bought usedwith 8000miles. The problem Im having is while taking off at the light (at higher revs) the bike clutch will slip, then suddenly grab and nearly stall. Slowly letting out the clutch there isnt a problem. I mainly do backroad twisties, but sometimes I feel like ripping down a strait from the light. Is it time for a new clutch, or is there a mod to do???

Update to the '02+ clutch. You will need one of each:

#13 - CLUTCH DRIVE NO.3 PLATE 21442-24F00

#14 - WAVE WASHER SEAT 21471-24F00

#15 - CLUTCH PLATE WAVE WASHER 21472-24F00

Thanks, Do I replace the entire clutch and those parts, or just those parts?

Those 3 parts are the only thing different from what you have now, so as long as your clutch is in good shape you will only need those 3 parts. They replace the first fiber that goes into the clutch basket, #10 shown in the the first picture below.

I am digging up a somewhat older post here in hopes someone can help me out...

I just took apart my stock clutch on my 03.

All diagrams say 14 then 15 so that 14 is in the back of the basket. That is the wave washer seat (or the concave looking washer)

I just disassembled the stock clutch and 15 was in the back of the basket which is the FLAT washer..

Now there is a groove cut into the back of the basket that fits the FLAT washer perfectly..

Who is right?

I cannot find the assembly of those washers in my service manual...
