The scoops are for air cooling the rear engine. They get hot. I used to rebuild these things with kit cars back in the day. Although I would cut and stretch the frame so the Testarossa looks more like the real thing. Good memories
One of my best friends had a late model V6 Fiero. Clean car. He was warming it up one day, looked outside and the engine bay was engulfed in flames. It was sad to see it go because it looked like it had rolled off the showroom floor prior to the burning.
