Should I go with an extended chain guard or leave it off.I just dont want stuff flinging off the chain but i did use a lube thats not supposed to come off.It looks good without and shows off that bright gold chain.

Chain guards are there for a reason IMO. It might end up saving you from getting hit by the chain or costly repairs if something happens to go wrong with the chain. I would put one back on.

Good enough.I will modify the stock one for now so it wont rub.Been riding for years and never seen a chain come off but never know right??

Buddy of mine had one fly of his ZX6, fortunatly it went straight out the back. Whats makin it rub? Rub on what? Answer me man!!

My guess would be the tire is rubbing, assuming he needs an extended chain guard because he stretched the bike. I know my tire rubbed the stock guard when i kicked my back wheel out 8 inches.:2cents: I took a dremel to mine to give it some more clearance, but do plan on getting something intended for longer wheelbases.

you don't need no stinking chain guard ...Your leg will protect the bike if the chain should fly off

Actually, I don't know that the stock plastic ones are for much more than keeping some of the junk from flying around when it leaves the chain. They may slow down a flying chain but...

A lot of tracks don't run them at all but LSR requires metal chain guards. If you want one for more protection I'd go with a metal one from Tiger Racing.

Its rubbin on the tire after I moved the wheel back 6 inches.I will mod it for now and then order a metal one for extended swingarms.

I notched it out about 2 inches long and a 1/2 inch deep.Looks good now.Now for a ride when the wife gets home. And the sun came out finally.

It only takes the chain breaking at speed once to really ruin your day. Just ask my 06 that is sitting in my garage with a shattered case. Then again, only one of those heavy duty case savers would have saved it and not the stock plastic chain gaurd. But I think the gaurd may have potentially helpd save my leg!

I took mine of and the gold chain does look good just on the rear sprocket but judging by the replies here may be I should put it back on ?
