center stand?

If you need a pipe to get it off, you have it on WAY too tight.  Torque on it is only supposed to be 72.5 ft/lbs.  I could see needing one if you dont take the cotter pin out first though....

Have you ever tried taking that nut off with the stubby wrench in your tool kit? You may as well be using your bare hand because that's all the leverage it gives you.

70 to 80 lbs is typical of the torque used on a car wheel lug nut and those can be a pita to take off with a large lug nut wrench.
 
Too many people around here having trouble getting their nut off.
