Is there a center stand option for the Gen III? I have center stands on my other bikes and find then very useful when it comes to washing the bike, checking the oil, chain maintenance etc so I'd like to get one for my Gen III if possible.

I will go out on a limb here and say.....no......not for the Gen 2 or 3.......

All of us use some sort of paddock stand for those maintenance tasks....

does this count? =D this is what i have, works great. still nothing better than pitbull. i bought their spools as well. anyone who is very particular about the bolts themselves could order something nice and very specific from mcmaster i'd imagine.

No center stand lugs on the Gen 2 or 3 frame either....

I wonder if all gen 1s have them or was there a certain year they removed them?
I know for a fact that it was an option for 2000 because I had one on mine but you had to remove the lower wing fairing. It looks like 2003 was the last year they were available.

I'm using the Abba Centre lift stand (allows for front and rear wheel to be elevated at the same time) - works beautifully. Being a spoilt brat, I also have the Abba Skylift. Putting this beast on a paddock stand solo is terrifying.

Why?
My Gen2 and B-king(heavier with higher center of gravity) were easy on/off my Bursig paddock stand, as well as swingarm stand and front forklift(triple clamp) stands combined.
And, I've never tried a Skylift, but want one.

It's by far the most difficult bike I've owned to try and get it onto a paddock stand (at least, the paddock stands I've got) with the fender and stock mufflers in the way.
The passenger grab rail makes it very easy. Others take the hump off and grab the seat rail to get it stationary.

Do you have spools on the swingarm for a rear stand?
If so, fit the stand into the spools first, then lift the bike upright while putting light pressure on the rear of the stand, now the bike should be balanced upright, with both stand wheels on the ground, then simply push down the rest of the way on the end of the stand, and the rear tire will lift and the bike settle on the stand.
You just have to ge the technique right, and then you'll find it easier and become more confident doing it.

Right, I use a conventional Pitbull stand and jeez that Busa is hard to lift up.
Slipping a 5 foot pipe over the handle for more leverage would fix that

Yes sir. I've used paddock stands on a wide range of bikes over my many, many years of being alive. Even my Gen 1 Hayabusa was easier to lift with a paddock stand than the Gen 3. I think the stock fender and mufflers on the Gen 3 are preventing me from getting my stand under it enough because the handle presses against the bottom of the fender. Sure, I can lift the bike using my paddock stand, but it feels unsafe getting it into position as I hold her up by the passenger grab rail and try and get enough leverage. So, for now, I'm using the Abba which is perfect and takes no effort at all because it uses an extendable handle that pulls the bike back against the frame stand. I have some yoshis and a tail tidy coming in which will create more room for me to use a rear paddock stand more safely. For now, the Abba frame stand and Skylift are my go to lifters.

Ive had a forward handle rear stand for 25yrs, it never made sense to me why that wasn’t the norm. A rear handle stand takes up more space by effectively making the bike longer, u can’t maneuver the bike around while on the stand, and it’s harder to use. But u rarely see them.

I almost bought the center lift stand on Black Friday but I couldn’t convince myself it would be worth replacing the rod and jackstands I have lol

I’ve never used a front handle stand but I think the problem would be when the bike is up on the stand and the handle lies on the ground along side the bike it creates a barrier of sorts.
Using a rear handle stand there is nothing in the way and the space is completely open.

Dnyce, this apparently doesn’t bother you. Maybe I’m wrong in my assumption about how front handle stands work.

Very easy to move my bike around on the front handle stand. Very stable and the handle is not in the way at all. If I had a rear handle, I would not be able to push it back into the spot where I park it.
