Buying used cases

I am thinking about buying a used gen 1 engine case, other than making sure the cases match. I would like some help from my folks on here. What do I need to look for and ask to make sure I'm getting good usable cases. Thanks

Good bolts, most common places for cracks is around where the chain would break and take out shift cover etc. try and get a shift cover and mech, water pump, oil pump, etc. less money to spend later.

I bet it would look like this huh. I was going to build this one on the bike now but... You can see why. It runs good. Just going to buy cases and build it with the good parts

Just remember u gotta buy new mains now which might as well anyway. Those will cost

Sell that as a runner. Everybody wants a running motor but doesnt wanna pay for it. Give em that one. I used to build stock rebuilds with cores. I never made any money because i was picky about the builds. Business died within a year. Start a new fresh build. Nothing will ever be perfect

Yes. I think that would be best also. Thanks. I got that motor for $1000. No throttle bodies. But complete motor. I'm sure I could still get that for it.
