I just left Hawaii a few months ago, and some of my fellow racers there were HPD. I talked with one, Tommy, who is friends with Officer Steve Favela, the worst one of the three conditions wise, who had to have one leg apputated and they were trying to save his other, but bleeding badly from multiple injuries. Officer Steve Favela will be remembered. Although it looked seemingly harmless, this has turned out to be quite a tragedy. A couple other Solo HPD guys I know are sending prayers and condolences, from my family, and my second (Army) and third family (this board). I sent this link to a couple of them so they can pass on to the families that the Solo Officers are in our prayers.

Hawaii was in desperate need of blood, and several of the old crew went to donate but not at the state blood bank. The hosiptals they went to actually turned them away and referred them to wait for "the next blood drive." Classic example of right hand not talking to the left. What a shame. Add to that, approximately 65% of the military left on island (not currently deployed) recently returned from a "dirty zone" where they, like myself, contracted TB and or other various viral infections/bacterium or parasites and this excludes them from giving blood. So fricken pissed off at the system right now. Jesus, when will this senselessness stop?
