"BURN-OUT" pix....

so...this past wednesday evening some HD buds at work invite me up to Gators Dockside in port saint lucie for a pre-bike-week bikenight...custome painters "Dangerous Curves" had their "dangerous curves girls" there do'in raffles and strip teasers...and by the 3rd Double Jim Beam & 7 with a twist of lime later?...a moment of silence came across our table after one of our buds bought a round of jos'e gold tequila when i piped up and for some strange reason inquired...

"Hey!..I gotta an idea...anybody wanna man my camera whilst i do a big smokey?"

and immediately had several volunteers...so?...i did..

ya can't see then do to the cam angle but off to the right there were about a dozen folks cheering me on...and then?...these two guys pulled up to try an do the same...

the guy on the kaw gave up trying with nary a full turn on the wheel..then the young dude on the new blue gsx600r tried...but couldn't get it smokey either...then?...he attempted to do a rolling burn-out and tossed his brand new gixxer600 20 yards across the pavement blowing all the plastics off the left side of the bike..scatching the hell out of his engine casing and destroying his clutch/controls/mirror....i didn't have the heart to take any "damage pix" and he wasn't sure if he broke his ankle or not...and i felt bad for him but dang man...what the hell made him think he could pull off a rolling burnout when he couldn't even do a standing burnout?...???

kids these daze...go figure...but i'd of paid $20 to be a fly on the wall the next morning as his father looked at the wrecked bike in the garage and turned to ask him..

"You did all this damage in a freaking parking lot?"

lets out it this way...i didn't make it to work thursday...mainly cause the cheering crowd of friends bought me many drinks afterwards!

to add...it was a rare occassion and i was in rare form...this is noting i do on a regular basis...nor do i recomend trying this at home...leastways?..not without many years of "practice"!

i did my burnout while slightly gone but the only riding i did was to drive it into my spare bedroom

Disclaimer: I did not stagger to my bike nor did i NOT wait a suitable amount of time before hitting the road to slow roll on home the 3-5 miles from my house

i don't set out to drink and ride...leastways not far from my home...i'm not a complete azz..but it is bike week in my neck of the woods...and there's quite a few folks doing just that..i'm not typically one of'em...nor do i condone drinking and riding..and that's just me having the honesty to admit to a weak moment...but i did have one he11 of a fine time!

and got home plenty safe..with my mind/wits/riding skills and bike intact.

but if i ever need an extra mommy or a good tongue lashing i'll know where to check in first and what NOT to admit to.

but for those who wanna preach?...i have the ultimate hunting grounds for you...there's about 1/4 million bikers in daytona right about now...and rumor has it?...a couple of'em are drinking alcohol!

but 99% of the time?...the keys are out of my bike for the evening before i ever take the 1st sip...on occassion i might have a beer with my burger...(1)...like i said...it's bike week...there's all sorts of party bike nights going on...for the rest of ya?..i hope you enjoyed the pix...cause it looks like i'm gonne get hammered again...right here in this ill-concieved...ill-fated...thread.

answer:

look at the pavement...it all "Graded" to drain...i had enough common sense and experience that i knew there was only one level place to control the rear wheel whislt spinning...at the bottom...near the drain...and it just happened to be wet there...here's an older "Non-Wet" pic for you...

i.e.: it wasn't like i "needed the water"
