BMW is pretty much the most popular status symbol here in SoFla.
He drives the Bimmer and she has the Rover and yes everyone is supposed to admire and envy them in their expensive cars.

Maybe so, but they are a dang fine automobile. Juli has has a 328i coupe and now an fully loaded X3, I love this make. The only thing I have to buy or worry about till 100k is tires, everything else is covered. Top notch customer service and they stand behind what they make. I get pissed off every time I go to my Ford dealer. :banghead:

I agree, I'm a BMW convert. It's my MLC car, but because it's fun and a good car. If I wanted something just because it was expensive and a status symbol, it would have gotten a Jag or a Lexus.

Yes, BMW's ride/handle and steer like no other car, but the maintenance and parts on them is extraordinarily high, and because the M models have such high-powered engines, tend to have problems over 100K miles. Not for the faint-of-wallet when they need repairing. Having said that, the E39 is a standout.

Those are nice looking automobiles. I just think though. For 46k I could get a BMW... Or save up a bit longer an get a used DB9 or DB7. I know the BMW would be better as an all around but if I buy a car I want it to be exciting enough to make me have to think about taking it or the Busa.

I do really like those little roadsters though. And the M5 is well sick.... Aaa fantasies
