I prepaid for a 360 copy 1 mile from my house and had intended to pick it up at mid-night but the plans got thrown to the side when a friend called and I had to help him deliver a stolen bike to a police station in Detroit

I was third in last night at Walmart and home by 12:15. Of course I had to do the typical update bu it was only 20mb so it took a couple minutes. It was very busy and it kept timing out or not being able to join lobby. I had the hardest time getting two of my other friends into same match. If I invited them the lobby would fill before they could jump in and if I created a party of three and tried to join a match it would sit forever looking for an open block of three in the lobby. So I just played by myself online till about three or so. Then I played campaign for about an hour. Woke up today and played again for a while. This morning it was almost impossible to even join a match solo. All those things I'm sure will calm down.As for the game. Seems like more of the same ole same ole modern warfare. You die much quicker online in match play than black ops. A couple good hits and your down. Maps are cool but don't seem as bright as black ops. Not much new for weapons. There are a couple cool new perks like some sort of sensing mine system that pops up and blows you to bits. Unfortunately I was only on the wrong end of it all night so I haven't been able to use it. Need like a five kill streak to get it which for me is harrrrrrd :) The graphics on the modern warfare series seem crisper than the black ops or world at war games. There is a new match called 'kill confirmed' where after you shoot somebody you have to collect their dog tags for extra Xp and a 'kill comfirmed' callout. If you collect one of your fallen team members tags before the enemy you get a 'kill denied' callout and extra Xp. The single player campaign is pretty cool. Again not much new. It picks up where mw2 left over. It's just a new story line with some decent news twists. I'm like 15% finished with it. So far I've planted a mine on a Russian sub in ny harbor, destroyed a tower on top of a building, driven a remote little battle vehicle and laid waste to like a hundred dudes! I just left off after a killer train chase where bad guys are inside it and your alongside shooting at them from a speeding truck. Then typical huge crash with blurry vision. Cool graphics That's just a quick update :)

Sounds like it's keeping you occupied

I'm still thinking about skipping this COD and trying the online of BF3. Curious enough to test it out in a week or so.

i have always been a fan of COD games but MW3 just isn't doing it for me. i didn't buy it but have played for about 6 hours and its more of the same but smaller maps and you kill/die faster. as for bf3 its my first time playing a BF game and i love it, not as run and gun as MW3 huge maps and you can play it how you want more then cod.

MW3 is going to take time to get used to. Hardly any open areas and all urban close combat for the most part which I dont like. Im not near as good right now as I was in previous games. I have only lost 2 games though

I've been reading a lot of reviews saying similar things. About the small maps and nothing really new and exciting. More like a 60$ map pack.

So after your initial weekend of play do you think it's worth the cash to pick up?

I will probably play alot this weekend so I will let you know. I would say yeah right now though... Its a good looking game and the new weapons are cool. The perks are neat but it is ALOT harder to get upgrades and perks which makes the game alot harder and makes higher levels much more advantageous. Many will not like that.

Thanks. I may pick it up used at a good price if I hear good things from you all. Though I will have to peel my bf3 disc away from my ps3.

I can't wait to see what west and zampinelli (sp) come up with for a shooter.

I started playing MW3's campaign last night. I wasn't horribly impressed. Graphics are about the same as Black Ops. My Live is expired so it will be a week or so until I can play online, but I usually do the campaign first anyway.

So far, eh... Should've bought Battlefield.. :(

The battlefield campaign was fairly poor IMO. It felt to forced of a script. There are a few good levels. But really it's about multiplayer :).

I'm happy to still have a positive KD in bf3. It's 1.04:1.

It's a new cod with new maps and some new guns. I like it. It was worth it.
Is it fantastically new? No.

Maybe ten or so. They have more coming out next month also. Maps are huge multiple areas for each section of the battle.

When I get home tonight I will be sending out some friend requests from this thread. It would be a blast to have an .Org team fighting together on a CoD or BF game. Show how we do it.
