Bar End Problem

Hi all,
I finally got the stock barends off thanks to some of your advice(I just turned them with my hand, and off they came!), and I expected to see a hollow bar for me to insert my new barends. But, there's an aluminum plug with threads in the center. Does this come out? The design of my new one's are clearly meant to go inside. Any experience with this?

Do you have the bar end weights with the rubber expandable plug on the end for replacements?

I believe the clip on style bars on the Busa have welded in inserts for the bar end weights. They are removeable, but not easily. Try taking the universal mount off your new ends and see if you can thread the old hardware thru it to bolt up.
