Backfire on shift

When using my air shifter a full throttle, redline shifts, I'm getting a small pop or backfire at each shift. Is this a sign of too much delay in the MPS shift box (fuel buildup) or a mixture problem?

sometimes that can be cured i believe by shortening\or lengthening up the air line from the slave cylinder to the solenoid.

The MPS boxes kill spark not fuel so the bike is still dumping fuel into the motor for that split second.
Shorten the kill time on the box, mine did the same thing.  It was kind of cool to throw out a small flame from the tailpipe while shifting at the track though.
