Sorry to post in the general forum, but I want to get this story as much exposure as possible. Speedworld Dragstrip just outside of Phoenix is in danger of getting closed by the county for no decent reason, and they've already had to cancel a National because Maricopa County reneged on a promise to issue a temporary permit. Firebird is also in death throws, so we could very well be left with no tracks between Tucson and Vegas. Any concerned Arizonans (or anyone else who enjoys drag racing) should voice their concerns with Planning and Development:
