Pac..................sounds like you did all you could to keep from bitin' the gravel..............I'd say you almost pulled it off.  We get some nasty side winds here in Colorado, guess I'll show them the utmost respect thanks to your exploits!!!

Thanks for filling us in.....................wish you were wearing some leather pacman.................maybe we'd only be talking about bike damage and not body damage.
I know I've been real tempted to ditch my gear on these beautiful days..........so many people wear t-shirts and no lid......it's tempting, but I need to not cave in(wife loves me too much)!!!!

Hope you're up and kickin' real soon.  Miss ya on the boards.

No one here's laughing at you Pac...well, maybe RSD, but that's because he's had a few...
tounge.gif
Pass the bottle around, will ya?!

Don't be so hard on yourself...we all do things from time to time that could turn out disasterous...from not putting all of your safety gear on (or not even having it all, wearing jeans like many of us do) to doing some things with the bike that maybe we're not ready for...

You did the right thing by not letting 500+ pounds pummel your body, so I'd say that everything came out the best that it could...it could have been so much worse...

Take it easy with the drugs! Save some for when those doctors of yours decide they're not giving you anymore...
tounge.gif

Heal fast...and you said that your left hand was banged up pretty bad; will you regain full use, or is there some permanent nerve damage? Keep us all posted Pac...

Pac versus Wind.....dayam...For many years lot's of us rode standards...cb750's
Kz1000's..etc...Then in 84 the Ninja 900 after that a GSXR110, 1000 Concours, now the Busa...The side winds have a whole new meaning.....Busa is truly scary in high wind..from the side..compromise is the word...fully faired and fast....but more at mercy of mother nature than standards we rode before----a while back someone said do not ever go at max speed when it's windy...wow even in first gear
it can get ya.....Hope you are feeling abit better Pac...
Was just thinkin' about this very thing... This puts a whole new light on the recent discussion on toppin' the busa out on the street. This was a first gear get-off due to crosswind. Just imagine a 186+ MPH get-off after bein' carried off road by a gustin' crosswind! How many times have you been rollin' along with no wind and all of a sudden a little gust moves ya across the lane? That could be the end if you just happened to be toppin' 'er out at that moment!
eek2.gif

Maybe I won't try and top 'er out eventually... Not on the street anyway.
drooling3.gif
Of course I'd never do that anyway...

Pac,

Sooooooo sorry to hear about what happened!!! Just glad you are okay and here to share your experience. It's so tempting sometimes to ride in short sleeves and jeans... Looking at your pictures is truly a wake-up call for wearing proper gear!!

Once you are able to let us know what condition the scooter is in, please post what ya need. I've got a few spare parts that I would be more than happy to donate to the cause!! My mechanic always has hook-ups as well for good deals on replacement parts!

Glad you're okay bro!!!! Take care and God bless!!!

Damn! Damn! Damn! Now I feel a little guilty about pickin' with you for all the nad shavin' jokes. Truly sorry to hear this man. Hope you get better real soon. Not sure if you're in the mood to talk about it, but here's a list of parts that I have that is yours if you only do ONE thing...and that's GET WELL SOON!!

Parts I've got: Stock exhaust cans, windscreen, front and rear turn signals, front foot pegs, and some other stuff that I can't think of right now. Just let us all know man. I feel ya. It really sucks when our fellow bretheren or sisteren (is that a word?

Wow....

I just thought I'd check in and let the gang know how I was doing, and BAM! so much love and concern for a fellow member.

You guys and gals are the greatest!

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to all of you who have wished me well and who have generally lifted my spirits. I will get to that...I promise.

For all of those who offered spare parts, thank you so much! I hope I don't seem like a prude if I take you up those offers. My baby is hurt kinda bad, and it seems like an uphill battle to get her back on the road and ready to roll.

Parts? Oh boy....where do I start? For now, the biggest concern with parts is my frame and my rims. I haven't totally checked out the bike, but from what I remember from the accident, both rims were totaled and the frame cracked on the throttle side...the lower subframe bracket part. Ugh...how's that for a start?

But that's enough of that...I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm healin up alright...just a little sore in some spots that are still raw.

Here's some pics of the healin process...BE WARNED, though: it ain't pretty.

Here's three days after...this is the left arm, which suffered the most damage.

here's the left side palm as of yesterday....still kinda raw, but the doc said it was healin up nice.

Sheesh...he also told me I had some severed nerve endings. I'll regain full use of my hand, although I'm a little worried about the ability to feel in that part. This one hurts like a beeyaatch when water is poured on it. Can you imagine the pain when they put the iodine on it?

Damn...make sure you guys all wear your gloves!!! That is an absolute must!

And now I'm done.

Thanks again for all the love, guys and gals. Pacman really appreciates it. I'll check in again soon.

In the meantime, please ride extra safe, peeps.

PB out....

pac = no squid man some people dont have those kind of winds to deal with like you do over there , so like sage, i dont think it was a squid move at all cuz me i only tend deal with 20 - 25 mph winds here in the panhandle of florida so i personally couldnt tell someone how to deal with 40 mph dont know if i could even handle them , but like rubbah said air dry tthe wounds fastest way to heal covering them up will only slow the process air dry they will get them to scab over quickly. get better soon bruh and glad u still kicking

No pics of your rear then Pac? Might help further explain all of your shaving talk!
laugh.gif

Sorry...just hoping to make you chuckle, then shake your head and think "she's a funny gal...a little simple, but funny..."
tounge.gif

Ouch on those pics Pac, but wow, what an eye opener! I've been wearing gloves recently, but went out on Mom's Day without them...I don't think I'll do that again...
