I'm going to send in a sample, next oil change. I run Amsoil, and change it at 3000 miles. I've been to this website, http://www.blackstone-labs.com/index.html, and found it really informative. They don't promote any brand of oil.
It's $22.50 for a standard round of tests, and it would be interesting to see the results from mine, and compare it to others.

interesting reports. Seems they want to keep track every oil change though to monitor the engine.

When I want to do a oil analysis I usually go to a "caterpillar" shop. They usually have a spectrometer and charge about $20 for the oil analysis kit. You fill the plastic container with oil, drop it off and in a day you get a complete oil analysis breakdown of what you turned in.

Heavy machinery typically has an oil analysis program for the big equipment. The spectrometer does not care if the oil came from a $5 million crane, $250k truck, a car or a Busa. They will analyze the oil and give a print out of what they find. I usually do this when I want to purchase a used car or bike, its better than a carfax report because it tells you the condition of the engine regardless of what the owner tells you.
